Na Leo Pumehana, “Warm Voices of the Heart”, is considered by many in the Bay Area to be one of the most talented, entertaining Hawaiian music bands in Northern California. We have performed at many large public venues like Jack London Square in Oakland for the Hawaii Visitor Bureau, Pier 39 in San Francisco, and the Priory Basilica in Hawaii. We have also played many private functions as well as in restaurants, resorts and hotels in California and Hawaii for the last 8 years. Bruddah Derrick DeMotta, ukulele player and band leader; Sherrell Lee Rogers, vocalist extraordinaire; Ron Gapol, guitar master; and Roger Tapac, bass guitar maestro comprise Na Leo’s wonderful sound and harmonies.
Na Leo Pumehana is a culmination of many ethnic cultures and backgrounds coming together to bring the beautiful, haunting melodies of Hawaii to our audience. Hawaiian, Portuguese, Spanish, Filipino, Chinese, Scottish and some of the nationalities that make up our band.
Our music is sought after because we play the traditional Hawaiian music that isn’t heard much anymore, but there are many, many people all over the world that enjoy the songs that made Hawaii the tropical paradise it is today. We would like to bring the beautiful melodies that have made Hawaii a dream for everyone around the world, into other countries. Let us bring you a slice of that beauty by entertaining you as only Na Leo Pumehana “Warm Voices of the Heart” can.
